Paweł Tomaszewski (piano / rhodes)

Born in 1983 in Gostynin (Poland ). He`s a teacher in Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice. He has received a Master`s Degree in the above mentioned academy in two faculties: piano performance and composition and arrangement. Fronting his own band Tomaszewski Trio he`s a winner of all most important jazz competitions in Poland, including:
1st Prize at the International Jazz Standards Festival in Siedlce (2006)
Grand Prix and a special Radio Kraków Prize at Jazz Juniors Festival in Cracow (2006)
Grand Prix of Lotos Jazz Festival – Bielska Zadymka Jazzowa in Bielsko – Biala (2006)
Individual Prize at Jazz on the Odra River Festival in Wroclaw (2003 and 2004)

During his career he has performed and worked with top international and Polish artists such as: Maria Schneider, Nigel Kennedy, Eric Marienthal, Dean Brown, Rick Margitza, Larry Coryell, Xantone Blacq, Z-Star, Judy Bady, Michal Urbaniak, Jaroslaw Śmietana, Piotr Wojtasik, Grzegorz Nagórski, Urszula Dudziak and many others.

Paweł Dobrowolski (percussions, drums)

Born in Tarnów, 25 Oct 1977.

Graduated the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice,Department of Jazz and Contemporary Music, studying percussion under Prof. Adam Buczek. Since 2006 he has been a member of the Anna Maria Jopek Band. He had the opportunity to perform and collaborate with artists such as:

Nigel Kennedy, Anna Maria Jopek, Richard Bona, Dhafer Youssef, Mino Cinelu, Jeff Beck, Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Gil Goldstein, Makoto Ozone, NDR Big Band, Maria Schneider Jazz Orchestra, Gordon Haskell, Brad Terry, SBB, Michał Urbaniak, Urszula Dudziak, ZbigniewNamysłowski, Janusz Muniak, Tomasz Szukalski, Wojciech Karolak and many others.

Phonographic Academy Award winner – Fryderyk 2006 for best jazz album, for taking part in the recording “Assymetry” by Zbigniew Namysłowski.

He recorded over 30 CDs as well as music for the movies and participation in the Polish television  and foreign: RTL, ZDF, BBC, MEZZO.

Awards: “Swinging Raven” distinction as an instrumentalist at the 2nd “Hot Jazz Spring” – Częstochowa 2003, 1st prize  at the  „26th and 28th Jazz Juniors International Competitions for Young and Debuting Jazz Groups“ in 2002 and2005, 1st prize at the „Jazz Nad Odra“ 2004Competition, 1st prize at the „Bielska Zadymka Jazzowa“ 2005 and 2006 Competitions.

He has performed at many festivals all over the world: Australia, Japan, Korea, China, Indonesia, Singapore, Lebanon, Israel, Palestine, Turkey, Germany, Czech Republic, France, the Netherlands, England, Ireland, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Austria, Spain , Italy, Russia, Romania, Serbia, Ukraine, Estonia, Belarus, Sweden, Norway, USA, Mexico.

He had the opportunity to play on many prestigious venues such as Royal Albert Hall in London, the Olympia in Paris, concert halls in Europe and the world, club scenes: Ronnie Scott’s in London, the Blue Note in Tokyo and Milan, New Morning in Paris, and many others .

“Jazz Camping Kalatówki” veteran, as well as taking part in  “The Jamey Abersold‘s Summer Jazz Workshop” in Louisville, KY (USA), in 2003.

 

Andrzej Święs (bass guitar / double bass)

Studied  and received his Master`s Degree at the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznan (2005), as well as at the Jazz Institute of the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice (2008). His debut on the jazz scene was in 2004 with Pawel Tomaszewski Trio at Cracow`s Jazz Junior competition (IInd Prize).

He was awarded e.g.: Ist  Prize with Pawel Tomaszewski Trio at Jazz Juniors Festival  (Cracow 2005) and Bielska Zadymka Jazz Festival (Bielsko – Biala 2006), Grand Prix `Jazz nad Odra` Festival with group Soundcheck (2005) and also Individual Distinction at the same festival (Wroclaw 2008)

He has performed  with a wide range of musicians, including a number of internationally renowned artists such as: Greg Osby, Lee Konitz, George Garzone, Raul Soot,  Grzegorz  Nagorski, Piotr Baron, Joachim Mencel, Judy Bady, Ewa Bem, Lukasz Zyta,  and  others.
